      Ever since he can remember, it has been his purpose to  being a role model for children After graduating from Dental school with over 19 yrs of experience Dr. Sathish Palayam wanted to follow his dream of creating an office with no fears and no limits. Joining as an associate out of a large pediatric practice in north shore pediatric dental centers, his philosophy was  to serve patients as people and not as a chart or x-ray. He considers himself more than a dental care provider, but also a partner in every patient’s overall well-being. After realizing his limitations as an associate, He embarked on a journey following his passion to serve children creating an environment where he could implement the latest technologies to make dental office visits a fun activity as if going to an amusement park, a pediatric set up thus enabling to take away the fear of needles and drills. His passion to work with kids has helped his dream come true: “Happy Kids Dental” formerly know as Metro west Pediatric Dental Care. He has many years of experience treating children and has been able to provide a Dental Home for many of his young patients. Dr. Sathish is a member Of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, member of the New Dentist Committee a part of Massachusetts dental Society, a committee helping new dentists to establish current standards in establishing and operating a practice.

       

      As a comprehensive dentist with subspecialty training from the Institute of Advanced Lasers in Dentistry, he has been able to successfully incorporate Laser dentistry offering many great advantages for our pediatric patients. Our office is equipped with the most advanced laser systems used in dentistry with a FDA approval. Dr. Sathish is amongst the very few doctors in Massachusetts to have been licensed to use this system. It contains two lasers, the ER:YAG laser for many applications including hard tissue and the Nd:YAG laser to use for soft tissue or gum procedures. By offering two distinctly different wavelength lasers, Happy Kids Dental can provide a wide range of laser services. The doctors are continually updating their education to provide the most up-to-date dental services and procedures with lasers because our patients deserve the best.

      The Benefits of Laser Dentistry

      When a laser is used instead of a dental drill or scalpels there are fewer traumas to the tissues. This often (but not always) means procedures can be performed without the need for local anesthesia or numbing. The laser is ideal for small restorations and restorations in teeth that have never been restored before. Children love the laser – no shots (usually), no drill, less noise and the process is fast. Unlike the dental drill there is no shrill whine, just a gentle spray of water and a slight tapping sound.

      Dr. Sathish received his dental degree and graduated cum laude from University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine where he was the recipient of University of Colorado Award for Outstanding Contributions. Dr. Sathish has participated in training Medical Residents in University of Colorado School of Medicine in administering Local Anesthetics in most comfortable and almost painless techniques.

      Dr. Sathish has lectured and presented his research extensively at national and international meetings. He has been invited to speak at several academic institutions as well as Massachusetts Dental Society to help existing and new doctors in establishing and maintaining offices and transitioning into practices of the highest standards per the regulations and guidelines. He is dedicated to using cutting edge technology and advanced surgical techniques to provide exceptional care for his patients. Dr. Sathish’s personal interests include advanced laser dental modalities in proven cutting edge care leaving the fear of the dentist a history in providing laser gum surgery, laser cavity correction, and complex dental implant surgery. Dr. Sathish is a member of the prestigious Seattle study club, American Dental Association, Association of Osseo-intergration and MDS.

      Dr. Sathish lives in the Lexington area with his wife and two children. He is an avid tennis player, and enjoys Theater performances, travelling and cooking
